According to top sources, it has been learned that empanelment meeting for deciding the empanelment of IPS officers of 1990 batch to DG rank in centre had already taken place on 19th January 2023 which was six days after its original date. Sources add that around 13 names have been cleared for DG/DG equivalent. However, what is surprising is that some expected officers didn't make the cut to the list. Further, the review of the remaining 1989 batch officers to the rank of DG did not take place in the meeting, top sources say.
