In a major development, the center has informed the Supreme Court that it intends to give extension to Delhi Chief Secretary. Interestingly, in the last hearing, the Supreme Court asked the centre to prepare a panel for the appointment of Chief Secretary and further asked the Delhi Government to choose from the panel. But centre has perhaps decided to keep things as per procedure where MHA takes the call. However, the Supreme Court has asked to explain the power it has to extend the term tomorrow.
