As Race For Kerala DGP Heats Up, Manoj Abraham Is Frontrunner With One Dark Horse In Cabinet Secretariat

The present, Kerala DGP is set to retire in the next two months. The state government has begun its search for the next DGP. According to sources, a panel of six officers has been prepared, and it is said that Manoj Abhram is most likely to be the next DGP. He is also going to be promoted to the DGP rank next month.

Sources said that S. Suresh, an IPS officer from the 1995 batch currently serving as IG SPG, is also in the running for the Kerala DGP position. His expressed willingness to return to the cadre has positioned him as a potential 'dark horse' in the race. If the state government decides to overlook seniority, a close competition between Abhram and Suresh could be on the cards. Meanwhile, a top source added that the second-most senior IPS on the list currently serving the Intelligence Bureau has most likely declined to return to the state.
