In a major development it has been learned from top sources that  Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has issued a memorandum pausing the work of Internal transfer mechanism(PEB Of Traffic Management Division). The PEB of Traffic Management Division deals with transfer posting of Traffic Police officers ranging from Sub Inspector to Constable. According to a memorandum issued on 17th May 2025, Commissioner Arora has delegated the job of transfer postings in the Traffic Management Division to PHQ, along with PEB proceedings, which will be conducted by the PHQ under the chairmanship of Joint CP HQ.

Intrestingly CP's memorudum has casted doubt and displeasure over state of affairs in Traffic Managmenet Diviosn, the memorandum said "It has come to notice that the PEB of Traffic Management Division, constituted to process internal transfer/postings of police personnel, from Constable to Sub Inspector, within the Traffic Management Division, has been unable to process the tenure/humanitarian request/grievance based transfer/postings in a timely and transparent manner.

Emphasising the need for administrative improvements, the memorandum stated, "This reflects poorly on the Traffic Management Division. The same needs to be duly taken note of by the concerned for due introspection and putting in place a mechanism that ensures that standards of professional conduct are not compromised while performing essential administrative duties."

Top sources say that after Commissioner Arora silently cracked the whip, the Special CP of the Traffic Management Division cancelled the transfer orders of upper and lower subordinates issued a day before Commissioner Arora's memorandum.  Sources add that this is not the first time that the Delhi Police Traffic Management Division has found itself in a tussle-like environment with the Police Headquarters. Earlier, there were cases where PHQ and the Traffic Division came head-to-head. Reacting to such developments, top sources in power corridors have said that it's high time the Traffic Division required some hard calls and a tight overhaul.
