In a significant move that could reshape Delhi Police's command structure, newly appointed Commissioner SBK Singh has initiated an extensive reorganization of senior leadership positions, top sources reveal. The proposed reshuffle is unprecedented in scope, targeting key positions across the hierarchy which most likely include: 5 Special Commissioners of Police(Special CPs), 3 Joint Commissioners of Police(Joint CPs) and  15 Deputy Commissioners of Police(DCPs).

Sources say that the comprehensive restructuring proposal has been forwarded to the Lieutenant Governor's office, and an official order is anticipated by this evening. However, the process faces potential hurdles. Top sources add that certain Special CPs are actively lobbying against the reshuffle, attempting to leverage their influence to avoid being included in the reorganization.

"There's considerable behind-the-scenes manoeuvring by some senior officers who are pushing hard to stay off the reshuffle radar," a top source said. This resistance from within could potentially delay the implementation, despite the new Commissioner's apparent determination to restructure his team according to his vision for the force. The development marks Commissioner Singh's first major administrative decision since taking charge, signalling his intent to establish a leadership team aligned with his operational priorities for the national capital's policing.
