The power corridors are buzzing with anticipation as India's security establishment prepares for a major leadership overhaul. With two Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) Directors General hanging up their boots this month, the stage is set for a significant reshuffle. Top sources say departures from CISF and ITBP have triggered a carefully orchestrated succession plan that could reshape the entire CAPF hierarchy.

    Frontrunners Emerge

Top sources say that NSG Director General Brighu Srinivasan has emerged as the leading choice for DG ITBP. Known for his tactical acumen and operational experience, Srinivasan's potential appointment signals the government's intent to strengthen border management capabilities. Meanwhile, the race for the DG CISF position has intensified, with Special Director General (CRPF) Vitul Kumar reportedly gaining significant traction.

    Ripple Effect

It has been said that the leadership shuffle shows potential promise to create a cascading effect across multiple forces. Sources add that ADG CISF Praveer Ranjan is being positioned as Srinivasan's likely successor.   Interestingly, the Current NDRF chief, Piyush Anand, appears to be headed for the Bureau of Police Research and Development(BPR&D), as top brass seems to be actively scouting for "new blood" to lead the disaster response force.
