Vice Admiral Ajay Kocchar AVSM NM, presently Chief of Staff Western Naval Command, has been appointed as Commander-in-Chief Andaman and Nicobar Command. He will take over today, i.e 1st Oct 2025. A Missile and Gunnery specialist he has the distinction of commanding five warships, including INS Vikramaditya and was the commissioning CO of INS Trikand. In a career spanning over 35 years, he has held a multitude of staff and afloat appointments.
