    P.V Ramasastry, a former IPS officer from Uttar Pradesh, 1989 batch, has been appointed as a Member of the National Consumer Redressal Commission(NCRC) for a period of five years  or till attaining the age of 67. He has served as Special DG BSF and oversaw Operations crucial commands like Western Command of force. Apart from CAPF experience he served in NIA and oversaw operational and intelligence affairs of the agency.

     

     Before moving to centre he was heading Law and Order of Uttar Pradesh as ADG where he was responsible for overseeing the state's law and order situation, particularly during significant events like the Ayodhya verdict.
