In a major development, top sources indicate that the selection meeting for the next Maharashtra DGP is scheduled for next week. It has been reported that the UPSC will select three names from the panel sent by the centre and return them to the state for a decision on the appointment of the next Maharashtra DGP. Top sources add that Sadanand Date, presently NIA DG, is most likely to be the next Maharashtra DGP. The incumbent DGP Rashmi Shukla is set to superannuate at the end of December 2025.
