The statements and actions have hurt the sentiments of many especially the Sikh community according to the sources. In some parts where Jhandewal Singh is shown negotiating with Sanjay Gandhi and Sikhs firing on Hindus has been strongly opposed and condemned source says. The film is scheduled to be released in September but with all these controversies and legal interventions, the release is likely to be delayed source says. The film is based on Emergency which was declared in June 1975 and withdrawn in March 1977.
