Due to ill health, this time L. K Advani couldn’t hoist India’s flag on the occasion of Independence Day in India. During his tenure as Home Minister in BJP government he used to hoist the flag at his residence, while PM of India would be hoisting it at the Red Fort. This is quite unlike the situation in the past, when he used to hoist the flag as well as deliver a speech. However, Amit Shah decided to carry on this tradition. He hoisted the flag at his residence after returning from the Red Fort programme.
