To give a straight fight to BJP, an emerging political power in WB, Congress, and Communists decided to form an arrangement on the Siliguri model to oppose ruling TMC and BJP. Siliguri model is considered best by leaders of both the parties with which despite the strong opposition of Didi, Ashok Bhattacharya won the Mayor seat. Sources say though in last elections also they formed group despite the agreement the workers on street not supported each other and TMC managed to get maximum seats. Sources say taking lessons from the past they are taking all steps very carefully because this time along with TMC another political party BJP is also trying hard to grab the maximum seats?
