The unexpected win of the congress candidate with the support of Left parties in the by-election of Sagar Dighe, a Muslim dominated is worrying the TMC leader and CM of West Bengal. Before TMC this seat was considered a stronghold of Left parties but in 2011 seat went to TMC and since then it was represented by TMC source says. 60% of Muslims always supported TMC but this time they switched over to Congress. Seems TMC wants not to be seen along with Left parties and this has compelled the party to skip the dharna of BRS organised by K Kavita, daughter of the CM of Telangana through SP and other parties participated source says. TMC also kept away from the march of opposition parties on Hindenburg report source says. These actions clearly show that opposition unity is under constant challenge and BJP not likely to have a united challenge from opposition parties, a win-win situation for the party in the 2024 elections source says.
