The CM of West Bengal always blames the central government for destroying constitutional bodies but when it comes to her government generally does not respect constitutional obligations source says. A recent win in a by-election by a congress candidate from the Muslim majority of Sagar Dighe probably shook the confidence of the CM source says. This was visible in delay tactics of the Speaker of Vidhan Sabha, a TMC member for arranging the oath ceremony despite verbal and later written requests from the Governor's house issued on the request of Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary source says. The setback is taken very seriously by CM and perhaps feels that the traditional voters of TMC are shifting towards Congress party source says. The tilt before the 2024 parliamentary elections is likely to cost dearly and so the West Bengal government has already started taking steps to bring back the support source says.
