The support of Sonia Gandhi to allow the Manish Tewari contest from Chandigarh has yielded positive results, and the Congress party has given him a ticket, source says. Just after the announcement of the ticket, Sonia Gandhi requested Manish Tewari to contact Bansal and seek his support source says. Manish Tewari telephoned him many times, but there was no response. Then, he sent messages through close friends of Bansal to respond and extend support, the source says. At last, the hard work of Tewari resulted positively and a message from Pawan Bansal received that he is an old Congressman and will not disturb his campaigning but will also not accompany him during campaigning source says. Chandigarh is a very small constituency of nearly 6.5 lakh voters and most are educated voters to cover them is not a big problem source says. Some voters from Uttarakhand and UP are also part of the total numbers and this is likely to help Tewari source says.
