During a recent three-day conclave in the heart of Delhi, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) held a comprehensive review of the party's current strategies and the performance of its state leaders. Insights emerged revealing a growing discontent among dedicated party workers, who have tirelessly devoted their lives to the BJP. These loyalists lamented that when the time comes for recognition, it is often the parachute candidates, those brought in from outside, who reap the rewards, leaving grassroots workers feeling overlooked and demoralised source says. This disenchantment has sparked concerns that committed individuals are beginning to drift away from the party.

Discussions also highlighted troubling trends among those elected to lead state governments, with reports suggesting a troubling preoccupation with personal gain at the expense of development for the state and its citizens source says. The process of distributing electoral tickets was scrutinised, with an alarming preference noted for celebrities and sports figures, often bypassing those with genuine dedication to the party's mission and values source says. The recent unrest in Mathura and Vrindavan was brought to the forefront, where aggrieved citizens took to the streets in protest against their Member of Parliament. Similar dissatisfaction echoed in Mandi, as well as about other high-profile athletes and film stars, highlighting a growing disconnect between representatives and their constituents source says.

In response, participants resolved that future ticket distribution will prioritise candidates whose loyalty to the BJP and RSS principles is unquestionable, rather than those with transient fame. They conveyed this critical direction to the BJP's top leadership source says. Additionally, the RSS engaged in discussions on fostering a new generation of leadership by attracting young minds into the fold, aiming to invigorate the organisation with fresh ideas. A clear and actionable program is set to be established to realise this vision and ensure the party remains a vibrant and relevant source says.
