Rallies Based On Caste Banned in UP?

The Chief Minister of UP, Yogi Adityanath, in his recent order, banned rallies in the state on caste lines. Furthermore, the mention of caste in FIRs and other documents has also been stopped. Yogi is known for his opposition to caste politics but the BJP started governing in states and the centre on the politics of OBC and Dalits source says. Despite this order the centre is silent but many think that this will help the upper caste especially the Thakurs to maintain supremacy in the politics of UP source says. The supporting parties of the BJP in the UP are also feeling discomfort because this order is likely to affect the political scenario in the neighbouring state of Bihar as well source says. The state is going to elect a new government very soon source says. The BJP came to power with the support of Dalit, OBC and other downtrodden communities and a ban on rallies is likely to hurt the sentiments of these erstwhile caste and communities source says.
