After a humiliating defeat in just concluded Bihar state elections Prashant Kishore is trying to save his party Jan Suraj from disintegrating. Some time back, he knocked on the door of Priyanka Gandhi and accepted the offer of Priyanka to merge his party in the Congress, but in lieu demanded that he be declared state president of the unified Congress party, source says. Insiders say the final decision was to be made by Rahul Gandhi, and when the matter was brought to his attention by his sister, he simply said that PK has no ground force or followers to help the Congress. He added that he is only a media hype and nothing else so do not pursue the source says. When PK contacted Priyanka, she informed him that Rahul is very busy and that she could not discuss the matter with him, according to a source.

PK understood the reply and knocked on the door of JD(U)  with the help of Udaikant Mishra but here Lallan Singh opposed his enter saying he is the same man who predicted less than 25 seats in the last elections source says. R C P Singh of the Jan Suraj party is also trying to join JD(U). His daughter, Lata Singh contested the election from the Nalanda area but could not succeed source says. Lallan Singh is also opposing the return of RCP Singh but Nitish Kumar is very excited about his return so he is likely to be taken back but PK is still in search of some option to save his party source say.

After returning from Kolkata, Akhilesh Yadav has started saying that Mamta Didi is the only leader to challenge Modi and the BJP, sources say. Akhilesh Yadav also started telling that his party is ready to give only 40 seats to Congress in the 2027 state elections, knowing well that Rahul and Priyanka would not agree to the offer, and SP would be free to go alone with other partners in the elections, source says. Akhilesh is worried about the poor strike rate of the Congress party in Bihar. Congress, with all its difficulty, got 60 seats to contest but bagged only 6 seats, the strike rate is almost 10% source says.

In Tamil Nadu, DMK is also not happy with the attitude of the Congress party because the party is delaying the seat adjustment decision and DMK, with its 12 other partners, has already decided on the formula, but already stated that allocation of seats might not be a problem, but no seat in the ministry, source says. Recently, Rahul Gandhi met the parliamentary party leader of DMK and said that his party is ready to contest on 25 seats but would like to have a seat in the state cabinet, sources say.
