It's unbelievable that the BJP defeated Shiv Sena (Uddhav) in the BMC elections. The BMC's budget is more than that of some state governments, and from here only Uddav Thackre used to get financial support to run the party, a source says. People say it's only because patch up between Raj Thackre and Uddav Thackre just before the elections. Raj Thackre is known for his criticism of people outside the state and always says they must leave Mumbai to allow only Marathis to work source says.
Though it's understood that Uddav has made it very clear to Raj not to break up these issues because the demography has changed and now instead of a 30 + 70 % population in the city now population is fifty-fifty and any utterance is likely to hamper the prospects of the party source says. Raj Thackre could not control himself and continued to criticise the presence of non-Marathi in the city source says. Results clearly show that non-Marathi areas have rejected Shiv Sena though Marathi areas helped the party to bag 65 seats. Raj Thackre contested on 51 seats against the wishes of Uddav Thackre and bagged only 11 seats. Congress bagged 16 seats from Muslim-dominated areas source says. Now Uddav must be regretting his decision to contest in alliance with his brother's party instead of the Congress party source says. But this has clearly demonstrated that something new is required to try to woo the voters for the future of the party, according to Uddav Thackre source says.
