After a gap of at least two years, not the party President but the BJP has announced the name of the Party’s working President and remained silent on the name of the party President. During the session, some senior members of the party met the PM in his parliamentary office to urge him to announce the party president's name and said they are receiving significant pressure from party cadre for the announcement. It's said that PM listened to the views of many and, during the parliamentary session announcement, said that announcing the name in a hurry would not go well for the party, and that they should finalise the name. Just after the Kharmas' name was announced, the source says. In the meantime, just before the start of the kharmas, the party announced Nitin Nabin, a cabinet minister in the Bihar government, as the BJP Working President. A young and dynamic Nitin Nabin, five time MLA is likely to add some new blood to the party's functioning and also soothe the upper caste with his inclusion, as he belongs to the Kayasth family and carries the legacy of his father Nabin Kishore, who represented the people of Patna in the assembly multiple times, source says.
